Hello,
we are investigating the formation of foams in liquid metals, especially in lead (Pb). It seems like the difference in oxide content is on major influence, but we are not sure if it is due to surface effects or due to enhanced viscosity.
Does anyone know or can refer me to information about the viscosities of liquid metals, especially lead, when about 2 wt. % smaller than micron sized particles are present?
We measured a strong increase and we are not sure if that is normal or if we made a mistake (we used the rotating vessel method for determining the viscosity).
I'd be very grateful if anyone could help me!
Best regards from Germany
