Russia, China and South Korea unveiled a giant 17-billion-dollar project to supply Siberian gas to energy-hungry Chinese and South Korean markets from one of the world's largest undeveloped gas fields. Rusia Petroleum, which is 63-percent owned by TNK-BP, signed a feasibility study with its partners the state-run China National Petroleum Corporation and Korea Gas Corporation, giving the initial go-ahead for the project. The 4,887-kilometre (3,055 mile) pipeline would transport gas from the vast Kovytka gas field near Lake Baikal in eastern Siberia to South Korea through China and the Yellow Sea. ----------------------------------------------------------- 6. Huhehaote city starts to replace coal gas by natural gas ----------------------------------------------------------- First 2,130 households in Huhehaote, the capital city of Inner Mongolia, were switched from coal gas to natural gas on November 8. The city plans to replace coal gas by natural gas for 69,533 households, 25 gas boilers, 45 commercial users, and 1 industrial users from November 8 to December 6. There are 135,000 households coal gas users in the city. All users will use natural gas to replace their existing coal gas in the next three years. ----------------------------------------------------------- 7. Natural gas in Hainan province is over supply ----------------------------------------------------------- Nainan province, an island close to Guangdong province, has received annual capacity of 1.6 billion cubic meters natural gas from Dongfang 1-1 gas field. Only half of the capacity has been realized. Dongfong gas field can supply annual 2.4 billion cubic meters natural gas. There are a lot of extra natural gas supply can be used to develop downstream natural gas areas. ----------------------------------------------------------- 8. Guangzhou city authority issued a Gas Development Plan ---------------------------------------------------------- Guangzhou city authority has issued a City Gas Development Plan for the gas fuel structure changes in 2006, 2010, and 2015. In 2006, LNG will enter the Guangzhou market and the existing oil made gas and LPG will not be replaced at that moment but will be gradually replaced by LNG. After 2010, most users in Guangzhou will use LNG to replace oil made gas and LPG. Most new LNG users will be expanded between 2010 and 2015. --------------------------------------------------------- 9. A new LNG bus has been developed in Shanghai city --------------------------------------------------------- A new LNG bus made in Shanghai has been evaluated by the related experts. The highest speed of the bus can reach to 100 km/h. The LNG bus research project is leaded by Professor Huang Zhen and Professor Gu Anzhong in Shanghai Jiaotong University. ------------------------------------------------------------- 10. Xian city has signed the contract to use Spanish loan for city gas ------------------------------------------------------------- Xian Natural Gas Company has signed the contract to use Spanish government loan of 32.31 million Euro dollars to build its second phase city gas project. The loan will be used to buy the gas equipment used in the project in Xian, the capital city of Shaanxi province in western China.
